School Uniform
Guide us O God to be the best we can be; in every thought, in every word and every deed
We believe that a school uniform is important:
♦ It looks smart
♦ Wears well
♦ Contributes to a sense of belonging and community
♦ Makes children feel equal to their peers in terms of appearance
♦ Fosters a feeling of pride
♦ Is designed with health and safety in mind
We ask that all children wear the uniform and encourage them to maintain a good standard of clean and tidy dress in school, including a navy blue coat outside school.
The uniform is designed to be practical, maintainable and good value for money. All uniform is available from our named suppliers - some of which will have the school badge on - but we also encourage families to buy unbranded main items from supermarket suppliers where the cost is likely to be less. We ask that all children have a school-badged jumper or cardigan, but all other items can be generic if this is helpful to families.
We welcome donations of good quality outgrown uniform; at the end of each term it will be made available to all parents free of charge.
Smart hairstyles support our children's smart appearance. Hair accessories such as slides, ribbons bobbles, etc, should be simple and in school colours. These are not required items of dress, but we ask that all long hair with chin length or longer is tied back with a plain bobble - this goes for any child, regardless of gender identity; this is purely for hygiene and practical reasons.
Any child with short hair must have a simple haircut, with no shaved sections, patterns or lines drawn in. We ask that any holiday haircuts - including bright colours added into the hair or extreme haircuts with patterns and shaved sections are returned to their former, more formal school-appropriate style.
Parents are asked to ensure that all items are labelled clearly with their child’s name.
For safety reasons we ask that the children do not wear jewellery in school.
For health reasons it is important that children are properly dressed for physical activity. PE kit should be kept in a named drawstring bag.
